Due to the interactive and engaging nature of our exhibits, new policies and procedures have been created to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. Our attractions have implemented health and sanitation measures. Please review our full COVID-19 response policy below before entering and touring our two historic attractions. Thank you.
Please mask at all times, be respectful of personal space, be considerate of museum exhibits, and frequently use hand sanitizer when engaging with interactive displays. We encourage families to stay together and for parents to carefully monitor their children while interacting with museum exhibits. If you do not comply with our health and safety policy, we waive the right to remove you from the premises.

World Famous Horseshoe Curve
Designated Hours for High-Risk Visitors
To help protect high-risk members of our community, both the Railroaders Memorial Museum and the World Famous Horseshoe Curve will designate every Friday from 10AM-Noon as special hours for visitors age 62 and older and those who are immunocompromised. The two sites will open to the general public at Noon on Fridays. Even though staff will not be checking IDs, we ask that other guests be respectful of these dedicated hours.
Online Experience
Virtual visitors can explore online, educational links such as a virtual exhibit tour and the Horseshoe Curve’s live stream. Don’t forget to purchase a membership to receive exclusive benefits such as discounts and our e-newsletter, featuring historical content and up-to-date information on our upcoming projects. - Masks are required inside the Museum and Roundhouse at all times. Please ensure that your mask covers both your mouth and nose.
- We strongly encourage all visitors and staff to practice social distancing (at least six feet apart) at all times.
- Visitor capacity is at 50% occupancy to ensure visitor safety and social distancing.
- Staff is required to wear masks. Plexiglass shields have been installed at areas of frequent contact, including all admission and store counters.
- Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the Museum. Masks are available for purchase in the Museum Store.
- Staff has been trained to utilize and apply the correct sanitizing products for certain surfaces.
- Staff responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the facility will be wearing appropriate PPE.
- High-touch points, such as door handles, countertops, elevator buttons, and exhibit buttons, are cleaned and sanitized often by staff members.
- Contactless payment methods are available for visitor use at the Museum Store.
- Restrooms on the 1st Floor are closed. Restrooms in the Basement and 3rd Floor are open and cleaned multiple times per day.
